Château de la Loire

This trip has very high value for me:) I have really good memories not only because I have seen how amazing the castles in France are, but also because the way the whole trip looked like. I have never done something like this, completely opposite to the way I used to travel. Book hostels in advance, take a train? Not at all! :)

The plan was to hitchhike for five days :) And actually, to my surprise it worked really well. I can't hide that at the beginning I had a lot of doubts... So many times I heard bad stories, what may happen when you stop cars... Anyway, SOMEHOW my friend managed to convince me and right now I am really grateful to her. I am sure that was best way (even though a bit risky...) to experience French culture.

We met soooooo many interesting personalities. We had sooooooo many opportunities to speek French (next benefit=> improving French:D). Besides, I was surprised how easy it was to stop cars. Sometimes just few seconds! LIKE IT :) Nearly every time, our drivers took us even further than they were going, just to help us. I was positively surprised how helpful and open people can be. And I must admit, we have many good and also funny stories to tell about the people that we met:)

Besides, we never knew where exactly we would spend a night. Therefore on the one hand uncertainty was our main companion there. Pas de problem :) Pure fun and excitement! Thanks to this trip I realized how much fun you can have, not planning EVERYTHING, just knowing where you want to get and doing everything spontaneously. We looked for hostels when we already got to the planned city in the late afternoon. From tourists information points we took phone numbers and adresses to hostels and luckily earlier or later we found a place to sleep :)

Below I put photos of the castles that we saw. There are two that made the biggest impression on me. The first one was in Villandry. I loved it mainly because of the garden. It was really amazing! You could see that there is a lot of effort and "heart" put to make it absolutely incredible :) I could spend there the whole day, just admiring its beauty :) The second one was in Chambord. It was the last place we went to and it was really big WOW:) The architecture is absolutely breathtaking. Anyway,  we heard the same from many people we met on the way. It was like the main castle that HAS TO BE SEEN :)
